This Is Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. Cypress Residents Directory is a private reference. It cannot pull records, certify copies, confirm who lives at an address, or change a roll. Contact the office that created or keeps the record. For an emergency, call 911. If someone is being stalked or harassed, contact local police.

Where to Send a Record Question

Choose the custodian before sending a request. A good office match saves time and prevents a city, county, or state agency from being asked to answer for a different record holder.

  • Street ownership and parcel history: use the Cypress street directory route for GIS, APN, deeds, and permits.
  • Older volumes and past households: use the Cypress city directory collections and library routes.
  • One person across several sources: use the Cypress resident lookup workflow.
  • Records held by the city: start with the Cypress Online Public Records Center.
  • Records not posted online: make a focused request under the California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 and following, to the named custodian.

Cypress City Clerk and City Hall: 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630, (714) 229-6700. The city’s How Do I gateway routes public-record, permit, license, and department questions. Current office hours should be checked on the city page before a visit.

Orange County Clerk-Recorder: 601 N. Ross Street, Santa Ana, CA 92701, (714) 834-2500 for questions about procedure. RecorderWorks is an index, not a document-image viewer. A copy request should identify the instrument, book and page, or the year and six-digit number.

Cypress Library: 5331 Orange Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630, (714) 826-0350, ocpl.cypress@occr.ocgov.com. The branch page lists local history in Special Collections and current service hours; reconfirm Friday closure and visit details before relying on them.

Messages about a private reference page cannot replace a request to the office that holds an official file. Include the record type, date range, address or case number, and the exact question when contacting a custodian.
