Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Cypress Residents Directory. By opening or using the pages, you accept these conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the reference or any linked search tool.

1. What This Reference Is

Cypress Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to the rolls, indexes, and historical collections that can relate to people and addresses in Cypress, California. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with Cypress City Hall, Orange County offices, California agencies, courts, libraries, or any other records custodian.

2. Rules for Use

Use the pages and linked resources only for lawful purposes. You may not use information obtained through them to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act
  • Make decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, housing, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale
  • Interfere with the operation, availability, or security of the reference

California restrictions on voter data, DMV information, protected addresses, and confidential court or vital records remain in force even when a search starts here.

3. No Consumer Reports

Cypress Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 and following. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. The information may not be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Outside Links

Links may lead to Orange County portals, Cypress city services, California agencies, courts, libraries, archives, federal systems, or sponsored search tools. Those destinations set their own terms, privacy practices, fees, availability, and content. Cypress Residents Directory is not responsible for an outside service.

5. No Warranties

The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page, fact, link, portal, fee, coverage statement, or search result is complete, accurate, secure, current, or continuously available. Confirm material information with the custodian before relying on it.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of these pages, a linked service, or a record found through them. This includes decisions made from a record or search result.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless the operators of Cypress Residents Directory from claims, demands, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arise from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original writing, design, logo, and page layout are protected by applicable copyright law. Linking to a page and quoting a brief, attributed excerpt is allowed. Full-page republication, systematic copying, and automated collection of the content are not allowed without permission.

9. Changes to Terms

These terms may be revised by posting a new version on the reference. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms, abuses a linked service, overloads the pages, or threatens site security. The restriction may occur without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without applying conflict-of-law principles. California’s Public Records Act is codified at Government Code §7920.000 and following, and the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, is codified at Civil Code §1798.100 and following. Those statutes govern the applicable records or data holder, not a promise that this private reference hosts the underlying record.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the extent required, and the remaining terms will continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Questions about an official record should go to the custodian named on the relevant page.
