Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Cypress Residents Directory receives, how limited technical data is handled, and which choices are available. The reference has no account system and does not keep a private copy of the public rolls or directory collections it describes. Search tools, hosting services, and outside portals may handle information under their own terms.

Data You Give Us Directly

If you enter a name, phone number, or address into a search box, the information is sent to the third-party provider that powers the result. Cypress Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. A message sent through the contact route contains whatever the sender chooses to include and is used to answer that message.

Data Collected Automatically

Our hosting environment may record ordinary server-log details such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. Aggregate information can help identify broken pages and understand broad use of the reference. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, when present, advertising measurement. These services can have separate notices and controls.

How We Use the Data

Technical logs are used to operate, secure, and improve the pages. A contact message is used to respond, maintain correspondence, or address a site problem. Search entries sent to an outside provider are governed by that provider’s process. Cypress Residents Directory does not use the small amount of information it receives to build a private resident file.

Links to Other Websites

The reference links to Cypress, Orange County, California, federal, library, court, and privacy resources. When a link is opened, the destination may collect information under its own privacy notice, terms, cookies, and retention rules. Review the custodian’s current notice before submitting a record request or identity detail.

Who May See Your Data

Hosting, analytics, security, advertising, and search providers may process information needed for their service. A contact message may be viewed by the person handling correspondence or technical support. Information sent directly to a government office, court, library, or records custodian is handled by that recipient, not by Cypress Residents Directory.

How We Protect Information

Reasonable operational steps are used to limit access to contact messages and technical data. No internet transmission or storage system can be promised completely secure. Do not place a Social Security number, full identity document, protected address, or other sensitive detail into a message unless the receiving official office specifically requires it through a secure channel.

Users Under 18

The pages are general reference material and are not directed to collecting information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a minor has sent personal data may use the Contact page to request review. The request should identify the relevant message without adding more sensitive information than needed.

Your California Data Rights

California’s Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §1798.100 and following, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, may provide rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and avoid discrimination, subject to coverage and exceptions. California’s DROP platform may help direct a deletion request to registered data brokers. Those rights concern data held by the covered business. They do not erase an Orange County deed, court file, vital record, voter record, or Cypress city document held by its legal custodian.

To ask what Cypress Residents Directory may have received, use the Contact page. A request should include enough information to locate the message or log record, but not unnecessary identity data. Requests about public records belong with the custodian under the California Public Records Act, Government Code §7920.000 and following, or another rule that applies to that record.

Updates to This Policy

This policy may change when the reference, search tools, hosting, or California privacy requirements change. A revised version takes effect when posted on this page. The date of the current version can be checked by reviewing the page after a material change.
